Good Architecture of Website Design

Wednesday, December 9th, 2009

Architects are specialized designers that know how to use spaces, lighting, textures and shadows to create an eye pleasing design. They spend time in the engineering certain spaces, sizes of objects and colors to help the project stand out from the rest.

This is very important when it comes to building your website. You need a design firm that stands above the rest with their designs and new ideas. The spaces on your site need to have reason, the colors need to match your company and the textures should match your company’s vision. If your site looks outdated and has concepts of that are 5 years old, people will bounce out of your website so fast and you probably won’t know why.

At db Tech Design we spend time engineering websites for WEB 2.0. Colors, spaces and ease of navigation are all top priority at our firm so that not only our clients are happy, but also their customers too.

Designing with Wireframes to pre-design your website

Wednesday, October 14th, 2009

Wireframe website design involves simple line drawings that show the layout for the elements required for your webpage.  Wireframe layout enables the website designer to focus on the elements necessary to create the webpage, instead of focusing on colour, fonts, or other design elements, which allows the designer to concentrate on the important elements of each page, how much space is required, and if the layout will meet the client’s needs.

When completed, the important elements of the webpage should include navigation bars, search boxes, page heading, company logo, and content areas.

The beauty of the wireframe system is that it lets the designer draw it by hand and go over it step-by-step with the client, which includes them in the process and makes them feel as if they are contributing to the design of their website.

If a client is not happy with one of the elements in the layout, the wireframe design lets the designer move the layout around until the client is pleased.  Using wireframe design, your client’s attention can be focused on the actual “structural bones” of the layout, instead of distracting them with colour, fonts, and other design elements like animation, flash, or rotating text.

Today, the majority of software design packages including Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator are capable of wireframe design, but there are other programs, specific to this type of work.
